Portable wirless LCD TV

LG Wireless LCD TV
LG revealed that a 15 inch portable wireless LCD television would be released soon! I find it quite interesting as it integrates wireless into television. To be precise, it is not merely a television, but also a multimedia display. Once the TV antenna, DVD player or VCR player is connected to the transmitter, radio signals will be generated and sent to the monitor producing the image. One of the awesome features of this product is that it has a built-in media search program. It could establish an Ad-hoc connection to any wireless LAN equipped computers for accessing pictures, music and movies. The idea to bring wireless LAN to television may drastically change the development of subsequent multimedia applications. With the ability to establish wireless connectivity, media players like DVD, VCD, VCR may probably be faded out. Multimedia contents could be relatively easy to store as data in terms of time and space.
Nonetheless, wireless applications are inevitably coupled with security issues. As information is transmitted over the air, everyone could retrieve the content, although they may not be able to decode it. If customers connect a paid TV antenna to the transmitter, their neighbors may be grateful to having free shows everyday. Or if consumers are viewing pictures stored on their laptops, privacy threats may be concerned. Therefore, there is always a trade-off in being wireless. It just depends on how proactive actions are done before vulnerability issues being disclosed.
